We all cut corners; from pre-made pie crusts to dry shampoo, the stresses of life add up and quick fixes become survival tactics for the daily grind. But one thing that too often gets the short end of the stick? Your skin! Whether your dark past of skincare malnourishment includes conveniently “forgetting” the SPF 30 and applying Banana Boat’s SPF Zero Dark Tanning Oil, sporting second day eyeliner (and bronzer) at many a weekend brunch or the classic move of applying make-up to hit the sheets with the new beau, we’ve all been there and we’re all guilty. Fortunately, there is a lovely lady in town who is here to clear up our skin care woes…it’s Leah Chavie!

Leah Chavie Skincare Boutique is here to save face, literally, and she’s so good at it that she recently opened a second location! Directly across the street from her original Lincoln Park location lies a new exclusive VIP facility located at 2500 N. Halsted. Designed to be ultra private to cater to celebrity and VIP clients, the new facility is an evolution of Leah Chavie and is a haven for clients to come and relax. And relax you will…with your Cheeky Card! Now with your black Card, you can enjoy a Signature Facial for just $50 (reg. $99), or 20% off any Stem Cell Treatment. That means you get to experience first-hand this research-inspired skin destination, and see immediate results!

Goodbye to lackluster, LiLo-esque skin; hello to Leah Chavie (and to getting carded more often).

The fine print: All services offered at the VIP Center will be performed by Leah Chavie herself. Those wishing to book an appointment at the new facility should call 773.360.1714. The original Leah Chavie Skin Care Boutique is located at 2457 North Halsted, 773.327.7051. Please mention Cheeky perk when booking.

Spring Makeup News from Jane Iredale

A gloss that changed the world
The first lip gloss was developed by legendary Hollywood makeup artist, Max Factor. Because all films were black and white, what brought interest and definition were texture and light. So after years of matte lipsticks (he used to use black to give the impression of red), he made the shift to shiny and glossy and invented lip gloss. Two years later, he sold the first commercial lip gloss called X-Rate. It stayed on the market for seven decades until P&G discontinued it in 2003 – no soul!

What is the enduring allure of lip gloss? Well, first it’s hard to find someone it doesn’t look good on. It transcends all ages. It’s always on trend. It brings youth to the face. It can be worn with jeans or a ball gown. It can be applied without a mirror. And it feels good. Not only does it feel good but it can actually be good for the lips, those tender membranes that have none of the protective abilities of the skin.

Revision Skincare’s Nectifirm, a featured product at Leah Chavie Skincare Boutique, was featured in RedBook as a prescription for your neck.

Original RedBook: You may be diligent about taking care of your face, but it’s time to focus your attention a little further south. Experts say your neck and decolletage are like the early-warning system of aging. “The skin there is much thinner, which means it’s probably the first place you’ll notice things like sunspots and crepiness,” says Ava Shamban, M.D., an assistant clinical professor of dermatology at UCLA and the author of Heal Your Skin. “Treat these areas to the same anti-aging ingredients that are in your face moisturizer, like peptides to boost collagen and stop sagging and Vitamin C to brighten and diminish spots.” Revision Skincare’s Nectifirm
